Lovebox 2011

On the 17th July, I broke my festival virginity and attended the third and final day of East Londons Lovebox festival. Boy, was it a great first experience!

The Boy brought me some Hunter wellington boots which i was extremley excited about getting dirty- and due to the mixed weather I was very greatful to have them on my feet.

I kept my outfit simple but comfortable, black tights under denim cutoffs (from a pair of boyfit jeans ive had for yonks and never wore) teamed with a black sweater (featuring sequins and shoulderpads) underneath my pleather jacket then a funky bright pink star scarf tied at my waist. Okay so not exactly ground breaking stuff BUT i felt pretty good in my choice!

The atmosphere was amazing... Beth Ditto was astounding- she belted out her new songs (unfortunatley none of the Gossip songs that i was hoping for- 'standing in the way of control' and 'Dimestore diamond' are favourites) as well as a great rendition of Dusty Springfields 'Preacher Man'. Blondie was also incredible although,,i hate to say, her new stuff is not great. Then the Siccsor sisters were on... incase you hadnt guessed- it was 'Gay Day'...i think we realised this when a man in a full gimp outfit walked, no, strutted past us!!

I will most certainly be attending next year, and hopefully get my hands on a bacardi Welly cocktail as we didnt budget for one this year! I highly reccomend this festival to anyone who isnt brave enough to attend other festivals where you have to camp. This was a amazing day full of dancing in the rain with umbrellas, Relentless cockatils and Ostrich burgers. Brilliant :D
